Alloy 718 / UNS N07718 is a high-performance nickel-chromium-based high-temperature alloy known for its excellent strength, corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability. The alloy is strengthened by adding elements such as niobium (Nb), molybdenum (Mo), titanium (Ti) and aluminum (Al) to form stable γ'' phase (Ni₃Nb) and γ' phase (Ni₃(Al,Ti)), which enables it to maintain excellent mechanical properties at temperatures up to 700°C.

Alloy 718 / UNS N07718 is widely used in the aerospace field, such as jet engine components, gas turbine discs and fasteners. It is also used in extreme environments such as oil and gas, nuclear power, etc. because it can withstand high-temperature oxidation, stress corrosion and creep deformation. The alloy can be further strengthened by age hardening (such as double-stage aging after solution treatment) while maintaining good weldability and formability, making it suitable for manufacturing complex components.

Although it has a high tendency to work hardening and requires special processes such as slow and heavy cutting, its comprehensive properties make it one of the preferred materials for high-temperature and high-stress environments. In addition, it is resistant to acid, salt and seawater corrosion and is also widely used in marine engineering and chemical equipment.
